My Hubby

There is no special reason for writing this following blog about my husband. I just want everyone to know how God has blessed me with the amazing man that I love and call my husband.

Well, my husband and I have known each other for many years – all the way back to the 6th grade. While we were in middle school and high school we rode the same bus and lived close to each other but ran in different circle of friends. I graduated high school went to college and he left and joined the USMC. I eventually married the guy I dated all during high school and college and had 2 kids. Andy got out of the Marine Corps started working and eventually became engaged to someone. Well his engagement ended and so did my marriage. It is God that brought us back together after 12 years at a birthday party of a mutual friend. He was really brave to start dating someone that had an ex-husband and 2 kids that were ages 5 and 3. That was the beginning of the year 2007. We started dating and by my birthday in August 2007 I found myself at Chateau Élan with this man down on one knee proposing marriage to me. He designed a beautiful ring for me that had side stones on the ring that were the birthstones of my children (luckily they have the same birthstone). Once we were engaged, we had to make some tough decisions since Andy was out of a job. He decided to go back to Iraq as a contractor to support our family financially. So we got married Jan, 20, 2008 and he left 2 weeks later for his job in Iraq.

So fast forward to the present. It has been 1 year and 3 months to the date that we have been married. We have been through so rough times in this new marriage as a married couple. We survived being apart from each other for 7 months at the start of our marriage, we survived during those 7 months Andy not losing his connection with the kids that he gained in the marriage, we survived trusting God that it would be the right thing for Andy to come home from Iraq early even though he did not have a job here, we survived Andy’s dad who has had multiple strokes and dementia live with us for 4 months, and most recently we have survived the miscarriage. The one reason we have survived is not because we are the best couple in the world. No, it is because of God and our faith in Him. God has seen us through some rough situations in the past 15 months.

But God is Good and He is Faithful and he amazes me with giving me things that I do not deserve. God has seen us through a lot and carried us in the times we could not walk. And He has given me the most AMAZING husband ever. Because of God’s wonderful plan Andy got a job where he is a government contractor that is on-call. So most of the time he works from home until he is called to travel and complete a job. Most men would not do all that my husband does while he is at home. Andy gets the kids dressed for school, takes them to school, he cooks dinner every night, he washes and folds the laundry, he cleans the house, he runs errands, he picks the kids up from school, he runs them to games and practices that I can’t make it to because of my job, he grocery shops, and does yard work. ( I am sure I am leaving out some things he does – he does it ALL) He is a truly amazing man. And on top of all that he loves me and my children more than anything. This is a man of God that truly loves God first and then his family. I love this man for who he is, what he stands for, and for always being my biggest supporter. He is my best friend and I am honored to be his wife.

I love you hubby !

  1. You should have mentioned your comment about the blue stones in your ring when he proposed. I still think that was hysterical that you thought it was because blue was his favorite color. Andy's way deeper than I had imagined!
