Another Birthday and Another School Year

Wow!! Where does the time go? I am another year older and the kids just started school. Yes last Saturday – August 15th was my 33rd birthday!! I can’t believe I am 33 I feel like I am still in my twenties. Oh well life goes on. I had an awesome time on my birthday. My husband Andy and friend Maranda took me to Helen and we went tubing down the river. For some reason I was the only one that fell in the river and lost my shoe in the process. Needless to say I lost my SOLE in the river that day. HAHA!! Anyway, after the tubing experience we met up with Terri Beth and Eric and ate at one of the cute pubs in Helen. We did a little sight seeing while we were there then loaded up to come home. It was a great way to spend my birthday. Here are some pictures below.

Then on Monday August 17 it was the first day of school. Cade started 2nd grade this year while Addyson started Kindergarten!! I couldn’t believe my baby was going to big school. They both are loving being in school and love their teachers. If you ask Addyson what the best part of her day is she will say – lunch and riding the bus. So here are some pictures of them on the first day of school.

The end of Summer

Well I will be back to blogging more regularly since the summer is coming to an end. School starts back next week and Cade will be entering 2nd Grade and Addyson will be going into Kindergarten. Can you believe my baby is going to big school? So stay tuned to posts of the first day of school.

But in the mean time I will fill you in on what we have been doing since I last posted. Well, we have been hanging out at the pool every weekend with friends and then cooking out every Saturday night with them. It has been a great time this summer just relaxing and hanging out.

Andy and I did venture out of the country to our favorite place MEXICO. While the kids were on vacation with their father we thought it would be a great time to get away again. So we grabbed our passports and headed to sunny Cancun, Mexico. We stayed at an amazing resort called NH Rivera Cancun. We stayed on the all adults side of the resort which was awesome. Hardly anyone was on this side but the honeymoon couples so we practically had the pool and beach to ourselves. The pool was amazing with hammocks in the pool, cabaƱa beds all around the pool , and the swim up bar for all your tasty fruity drinks. It was an infinity pool that overlooked the ocean and the view was fabulous. Here are some pictures from our trip so enjoy!!

Family Vacation - New Smyrna Beach, FL

Well we got back from our family vacation a week ago, so I am finally getting around to blogging about it. The four of us loaded up on June 26th and drove all night down to New Smyrna Beach, FL in time for the sunrise. For us traveling with the 2 kids it is just easier driving at night. We arrived at 5 AM in New Smyrna Beach and sat on the beach to watch the sun rise. Right then I realized how much God loves me by giving me 4 miracles right there to look at. My 2 beautiful and healthy children Cade and Addyson. My wonderful husband Andy that God gave to me after a failed marriage. And a AMAZING sunrise. All right there on one beach were my miracles. God is so good to us and loves us so much!! I am in awe of how he has blessed my life over the past 3 years.

Anyway back to the trip – we had an awesome condo on the beach in a beautiful complex. We were on the north end of the beach near the lighthouse so it was less crowed and we were able to find some huge seashells in this area. The pool and beach area was so nice - never crowed. We ha such a good time just the four of us spending time together. Our days mostly consisted of beach , pool, eat, sleep, and repeat. We did go and visit with Andy’s Aunt Holly in Vero Beach where he is from. Andy had a fun time showing us where he went to school, seeing the house he grew up in, and seeing where he played little league.

On our last night at the beach we drove 20 minutes to Daytona to see a Nascar race. If anyone knows my son Cade - he LOVES cars. I mean the kid is 7 and will sleep with some of his matchbox cars. He loves everything about cars and mostly racing. So we took him to his first race. We bought infield tickets and got up-close to the cars and the drivers. He was even able to see his favorite driver Dale Jr. We got to sit in the infield before the race and also write our names on the Start/Finish line. Cade was grinning from ear to ear. It was a really cool experience. We came home on July 4th and had a cookout and fireworks with some great friends.

Once I get the pictures uploaded I will post some. Hopefully I can do that soon!! Anyway thanks for checking on us. We have a busy July and August ahead of us with lots of travel. Stay tuned to where we end up next :)

Baseball, Softball, and a Pre-K Graduation

WARNING – this will be a long post with lots of pictures.

Well the month of May was packed full of baseball games, softball games, and of course we had a Pre-K graduation. Hubby has been out of town for the past 7 weeks so it has been CRAZY at our house with everything going on.

First off the baseball and softball games. Cade and Addyson both finished their seasons out with end of the season tournaments. This caused me to be at the ballpark for 5 out 7 days during the week. Shuttling the kids back and forth to games, working, and having hubby away was taking a toll on me. I am glad to say that we survived!! Here are some pictures of Cade and his team getting his medals after the tournament and also of Addy last night at her end of the year softball party receiving her trophy.

And then we are on to Pre-K graduation. My baby Addyson Elizabeth graduated from Pre-K on Tuesday night. It was a bitter sweet moment for me. I am so proud of her and so honored to be her mother. God has given me a healthy, sweet, never a dull moment, diva of a daughter. Addyson is so special to me and I love seeing her grow into the little girl she is. But it also sadden my heart to know she will be in Big School next year. No more girls days when Mommy is off work – she will have to go every day just like her brother. I pray that God will protect her and watch over her in the coming years. It seems like she is growing up too fast – sometimes I wish I could slow life down. So enough of the mushy stuff here are some pictures of the night.

Eye Doctor and Sunsets

Sorry blog world that I have been writing lately but today you will get 2 posts. This first post is about my experience at the eye doctor a couple of weekends ago. Might not sound too interesting but just wait until the pictures of the hubby below and I am sure you will get a good laugh.

I went to the eye doctor to get some prescription sunglasses to wear while reading at the beach and pool this summer. While I was trying to decide on which sunglasses did not make me look like a grandma my husband was sporting the glasses he thought he would look best in at age 85. He was giving me a glimpse into my future – it was so funny.

The he decided to go back to 1985 and sport some cool sunglasses.

I know the title Eye Doctor and Sunsets – what is that all about? Well I wanted to show you the AWESOME sunset God provided for us while we were at Cade’s baseball game the other night. Doesn’t the clouds look like they were forming a heart? Addyson said that is God showing us how much He loves us. Isn’t God just AMAZING?

DRAINED

Yes I am officially drained and exhausted!! Sorry it has been so long since my last blog but we have been running like crazy from one ball game to another. My dear hubby has been out of town working for the last 5 weeks and he will be gone for another 2 after this weekend. He does come home every weekend but with our schedule with the ballgames, Mother’s Day, and parties to attend there seems to be no real family time. So this leaves me drained. I need vacation to be here soon. It is 5 weeks away which is not soon enough. Everyday I pray for strength to get through that day and then another. I feel like all I do is work, rush home to get the kids, run to the ball field, rush home to take showers, and sleep. I need my vacation BAD!!!

But God is helping me through and in the mist of all the craziness he has healed and restored my body from all it has been through this year. So that is a silver lining. It reminds me of the verse in Jeremiah 29:12. It says, “You will call on Me and come pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” God is true to his word and he has heard my prayer lately and listened to me, and I am so thankful for that.

Ok that is all for now. Next time I promise a fun post with pictures J
